Really nice snails mate. That repopulating idea sounds really great. :)
"...and is called by the French name escargot when it is used in cooking."
Ewww. This is disgusting. People have to turn every-single-animal into food?

You've never eaten snails it seems. They're really really great. Very tasty. They're not slimy or wet, as some people suspect. When roasted, they become firm, yet tender. With a little garlic and herbs like thyme, the provide a very tasty, healthy and nutritious meal.
People also fail to eat snakes. Their loss. Snakes are very muscular and lean. Providing a very healthy source of meat. The only drawback is, they're quite high up in the food chain as predators. So any unhealthy contaminants from their environment tends to stack up in their internals.
Also good eating. Frogs. Very healthy. Not as slimey as people think. You eat the legs, which are incredibly muscular and lean. Very healthy.
